Canada Day in Mississauga: What’s Open and Closed

Canada Day in Mississauga falls on Saturday, July 1, 2023.
Mississauga’s downtown core, particularly Celebration Square, will be brimming with activity on Canada Day. Celebrations in the square begin at 4 p.m. and continue till 10:30 p.m.
However, many businesses and services will be shut down on July 1 to mark the holiday. Others will be closed on Monday, July 3 (see below).
Here’s what is open and closed this Canada Day in Mississauga:
Open:
- Square One Shopping Centre (11 am to 6 pm)
- Walmart Supercentre Square One (10 am to 7 pm)
- Whole Foods Market Square One
- The Food District at Square One
- Rabba grocery stores
- T&T Supermarket on Central Parkway
- Most Shoppers Drug Marts
- Most restaurants
- Three Beer Store locations (2458 Dundas St. W., 3154 Hurontario St. and 1550 Dundas St. E.)
- Celebration Square
- Splash pads

Transit
- MiWay will operate on a holiday schedule and some routes will not operate due to low customer demand while other routes will run later to accommodate people getting home from celebrations (check schedule online)
- GO Transit will run on a Saturday schedule
- TransHelp – to travel on Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4, you must call 905-791-1015 and book by 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 2. On July 3, TransHelp will operate from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. and the TransHelp office will be closed
Waste collection
- No waste collection on Monday, July 3 (will be collected one day later)
Closed on Monday, July 3:
- GO Transit will operate on a Saturday schedule
- Region of Peel offices and non-emergency services such as Access Peel Counters, Dental Services Contact Centre, Early Years and Child Care Services, Family Health Call Centre, Healthy Sexuality Clinic, Housing/Client Services
- City of Mississauga offices
- Vaccination clinics (will reopen on July 4)
- No waste collection (will be collected one day later)
- Canada Post (no mail pickup or delivery)
