6 new restaurants that opened in July in Mississauga

From authentic Pakistani cuisine that will spice up your life —momentarily that is, to a sweet treat that will give you a much-needed sugar rush. Here are some of the newest restaurant openings to check out in Mississauga!

Lahori Twist

Described as a “Pakistani-inspired BBQ fusion” restaurant, the eatery specializes in Lahori cuisine with a modern take.

Lahore is a city in Punjab, Pakistan known for its rich food culture, and the people are famous for their love for food. The cuisine has influences from Central Asia, north Indian and the Middle East.

Some menu items include chicken charga, tandoori chicken, beef bihari, along with naan breads, rice and lassi.

This restaurant takes indulgence to a whole other level.  Its menu focuses on chocolate with waffles, crepes, ice creams, shakes, and donuts drizzled or coated with the sweet confectionery.

There are double and even triple chocolate waffles and crepes. Waffles or crepes also come stuffed with cake, Oreo cookies, ice cream and Ferrero Rocher.

Donuts are topped with milk and white chocolate.

But, if you’re looking to try something daring and out-of-the-box then the The Spider Man ice cream is the right choice. The dessert is a combo of cheddar cheese popcorn and vanilla.


Crumbl Cookies

The wait was finally over as Crumbl Cookies opened its first ever Ontario location Heartland Town Centre, 5985 Rodeo Dr., Unit 1A, in Mississauga.

That original chocolate chip cookie remains on the menu today but specialty cookies change weekly. Rocky road, cookie dough and churro flavours are amongst some of the selections.

The shop added some Canadian flair with their maple flavoured cookies at the recent launch.

Customers also can’t get enough of the shops signature, pink box which the cookies come in. They definitely make pictures  Insta-worthy!


Matari Coffee Co.

This specialty coffee shop serving 100 percent organic Yemeni coffee, only had one other location in Canton, Michigan before opening its second storefront at 3465 Platinum Dr. Unit #97.

The shop offers an array of hot beverages including espressos, macchiatos, cappuccinos and lattes. These drinks can also be made with ice for those that enjoy cooler beverages.

The cafe offers an iced Pistachio frap which comes in a fancy glass topped with whipped cream.

If you prefer chai, there are a few options on their menu to choose from including a signature blend that has a green tea base, a hint of himalayan pink salt, milk and spices, topped with roasted pistachios.

Matari has various selections of milk cakes to choose from, but a must-try is their pistachio cheesecake.


Habitat Social Cafe & Bar

If you’re looking for an elegant and sophisticated place to hang out then the Habitat Social Café & Bar could be the place for you.

“We believe in embracing an eco-luxury lifestyle that combines the best of both worlds: indulgence and sustainability,” the café writes on its website.

The café offers a weekend brunch with “a new spin” on brunch classics along with fresh pastries.  Customers can expect to also find lattes, espressos, and a cold Vietnamese coffee on the menu.

Lunch and dinner offerings include a mex corn Inarizushi, chicken satay, beef tartare, lobster roll, and Vietnamese wings.


CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice

If one wasn’t enough, two new CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice shops opened up in Mississauga.

One is located  at 224 Lakeshore Rd. W., unit BB07 in Port Credit, while the other can be found at 6986 Financial Dr. in Meadowvale.

Fun fact: Mississauga already has has seven CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice shops across the city.

CoCo’s menu includes all the classics such as Pearl Milk Tea, a passion fruit tea, a red bean and matcha, plus lattes and fresh juices.

There are also slush drinks in fruit, tea and chocolate flavours as well as a mango smoothie – which is a crowd favourite.
