Victoria Day in Mississauga falls on Monday, May 18 this year.

Celebration Square in Mississauga’s downtown core will be open to visitors as usual on Monday, the holiday. The water fountain/wading pool will also be open for public use, weather permitting.


Here’s what’s open and closed in southern Ontario towns and cities this coming holiday Monday:


While many stores and services will be closed on Victoria Day, several will remain open.

Here’s what’s open and closed on Monday, May 18 in Mississauga:


Open

  • Square One: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Whole Foods Market Square One: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Erin Mills Town Centre: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Dixie Outlet Mall — 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Sheridan Centre (may be open, but call ahead to be sure)
  • Beer Store locations at 1550 Dundas St. E., 2458 Dundas St. W. and 5800 McLaughlin Rd. — 11 a.m.-6 p.m. (call ahead to be sure)
  • LCBO: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (call ahead to be sure as some stores might be closed)
  • Wine Rack (call ahead to be sure)
  • T&T Supermarket
  • Some smaller grocery stores, such as Rabba
  • Most Shoppers Drug Marts, but call ahead to be sure
  • Local parks and trails

  • For Peel Living maintenance requests, contact the 24-hour request line at 905-790-7335

Closed:

  • Heartland Town Centre
  • Meadowvale Town Centre
  • Other large/main malls in the city
  • Government offices
  • City Hall
  • Region of Peel offices
  • Banks
  • Libraries and community centres
  • Most major grocery stores (call to be sure, though, as recent changes to government legislation allow stores the option of opening)
  • Most Beer Store locations (see above for two locations that will be open in Mississauga)
  • Canada Post (no mail pickup or delivery)

Garbage

  • No waste collection on Monday, May 18. Garbage will be picked up one day later than usual during the week
  • Community Recycling Centres will be closed
