5) GrandPa’s House

GrandPa’s House is a spacious restaurant that pairs traditional Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fare with an elegant aesthetic to create a serene (and affordable) lunch and dinner hotspot. The new resto, which opened just last month, seats about 100 people and offers guests ample booth and table (including communal table) seating. The resto is occupying the space left behind by the now-closed P.K. Creek on Dundas St. W. and it’s making good use of the location with two takeout counters, a generous seating area and an endearing fountain feature that adds a nice touch of Mediterranean flavor. 4) Mii Sandwich Co.

If you develop an overwhelming craving for pho or banh mi while shopping, you are in luck–Mii Sandwich Co. just opened a brand new location in Square One’s ever-growing (and ever more unique) food court. The quick-service resto, manned by friendly and attentive staff, offers a ton of fun and traditional Vietnamese options. Like other Viet restos, Mii pairs such ingredients as lemongrass, basil and cilantro with beef, chicken, pork, tofu and salmon and offers sandwiches, tacos or baos, rice platters, pho and salad. 3) Thai Cuisine Experts – Lisgar

If you’re a big fan of Thai food and you live in the Lisgar neighbourhood, you’re in luck — the brand just opened a new location in your neck of the woods. The brand currently operates three locations in the city. They opened a restaurant in the Grand Park plaza off of Burnhamthorpe last year and also operate a restaurant on Leanne Blvd. in the city’s west end. Now, their third resto, located at 6970 Lisgar Drive, is open for business and serving customers the comforting Thai fare they’ve come to expect from the growing brand. 2) Columbus Bakery

There is a new Colombian bakery in town and it’s called the Columbus Bakery. Their saying is “The Taste of Colombia in Canada” and this is their third location after the brands’ other two shops in Toronto on Dufferin and Jane street. When you walk in, you can tell this place is new and that they are still getting things set up. The bakery also sells Colombian food off the hot tray, so if you want a savory lunch, all of your favourites are there, including empanadas, Bunuelo, carnitas, bofe, papa reliena and so much more. 1) Dunk’N Dip – City Centre

If you love Dunk‘n Dip and you live in or around the City Centre area, you are in luck–the popular brand just opened their Burnhamthorpe location. In case you weren’t aware, Dunk‘n Dip is a popular dessert café known for its large chocolate fountains that showcase milk, white and dark chocolate and caramel cascading in a beautiful loop. That same chocolate is used for the wide variety of desserts they have on the menu. Recently, the brand took to its Facebook page to announced the Burnhamthorpe location’s grand opening. Read more…
