Most support new policy change at Canada’s Wonderland: poll

Canada’s Wonderland recently announced that it’s implementing a new policy for young guests this season.

As of 4 p.m. daily, all guests who are 15 years old or younger will need to be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old in order to be admitted to or remain in the park, the Vaughan amusement park said.

One chaperone will be allowed to accompany no more than 10 guests aged 15 or younger per day.

“At Canada’s Wonderland, we’re committed to providing a safe, enjoyable environment for all our guests,” the park said.

In response to the news, INsauga.com asked our readers in a poll published on April 7: “Do you support Canada’s Wonderland’s new chaperone policy for teens under 16?”

Yes or no were given as options.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the poll had received 1,377 responses.

The vast majority of respondents said they do support the new policy, with 1,259 or 91.43 per cent selecting “Yes.”

Just 118 or 8.57 per cent selected “no.”

Canada’s Wonderland previously implemented a chaperone policy last fall for its Halloween Haunt event.

At the time, the park said the policy was in response to “increasing incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior” across the amusement park industry and at other entertainment venues.

Wonderland opens for the season on May 3.
