major policy change canada's wonderland

Canada’s Wonderland says it’s implementing a policy change amid “increasing incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior” across the amusement park industry and at other entertainment venues.

The new policy will take effect just as the annual Halloween Haunt event begins, which is happening on select nights from Sept. 26 to Nov. 1.

“We are committed to maintaining Canada’s Wonderland as a place where families and friends can come together to enjoy a one-of-a-kind park full of fun experiences and immersive entertainment,” the amusement park, located in Vaughan, said in a statement.

“As part of that commitment, we are implementing a chaperone policy beginning Friday, Sept. 26, 2025.”

All guests aged 15 years old and younger will need to be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to be admitted to Canada’s Wonderland or remain in the park.

“The policy will be in effect daily by 6 p.m. local time – Canada’s Wonderland reserves the right to begin enforcing the chaperone policy earlier on any given day,” the statement said.

The chaperone will need to show a valid government-issued photo ID at the security entrance.

One chaperone will be able to accompany no more than 10 guests aged 15 or younger per day, the park said.

“In addition, the chaperone must remain with their party during their visit and be available by phone throughout their stay,” the statement said.

Guests who are 16 years of age or older may also be asked to present a valid government-issued ID that shows their birth date, or they could be denied entry into the park.

“Parents or guardians are responsible for the behavior of their minor children. Appropriate behavior and supervision are the responsibility of the parent/guardian and is always expected,” Canada’s Wonderland said.

“All minors must be accompanied by an adult.”

Canada’s Wonderland is also implementing “enhanced bag restrictions” for Halloween Haunt this year.
