The upcoming week will be filled with warmth, bringing both sunny and rainy days to southern Ontario.

Last week, the region experienced gloomy weather with heavy rain, overcast skies, and wild winds.

As of today (April 14), the morning will be mostly cloudy and temperatures will rise to a high of 17 C.

There is a high risk of a thunderstorm in the afternoon, bringing 10 to 15 mm of rain that could taper off by early evening as temperatures fall to 4 C.

Monday will bring a mix of sun and clouds with strong winds gusting southwest at 40 km/h. Daytime temperatures will heat up to 15 C, making it one of the warmest days of the week.

Additionally, the UV index is expected to hit a moderate level five. Environment Canada advises protecting your skin when the UV Index is three or higher, especially from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., even if it’s cloudy.

Health Canada says that if outdoors, individuals should seek shade, wear protective clothing and hats, apply SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, avoid tanning, and use UV-protective sunglasses.

Closer to the evening, the skies will clear while high winds are expected to return— this time moving northwest at 40 km/h. Temperatures will cool to 2 C.

On Tuesday, get ready for a delightful temperature spike reaching 17 C, under perfectly clear skies. It’s the brightest day forecasted for the week, ideal for anyone eager to step outside and soak up some sun.

The evening will turn cloudy as temperatures shift to 6 C, making it one of the week’s warmest nights.

Residents might want to keep umbrellas close by as Environment Canada anticipates rain on Wednesday and Thursday with chances ranging from 30 to 70 per cent. Despite the wet weather, temperatures will stay mild, between 8 C and 12 C.

The rain will stick around into the evening and possibly carry into the next day, while temperatures are expected to reach a low of 6 C.

Friday’s going to be partly cloudy with occasional sunny breaks. The temperature will reach a high of 10 C during the day, then fall to 2 C in the evening, bringing cloudy periods.

The weekend is going to kick start with some sunshine and overcast skies, leading to a 30 per cent chance of rain. By the evening, temperatures will cool down to 3 C.
