windy day

A special weather statement for southern Ontario with wind gusts of up to 80 km/hr end Saturday morning, with the winds diminishing as the low-pressure system departs.

Outages may occur through the night and there is a danger of flying branches and other debris.

Cloudy skies and a few showers will mark the rest of the weekend, with the skies clearing later in the day Saturday with a high of 11, though the winds are expected to return in the afternoon, with gusts up to 70/hr.

Sunday will also be a cloudy day, with a 30 per cent chance of more showers but the temperatures will warm up to a much more comfortable spring-like 15 degrees.

The overnight low Sunday night will dip down to a chilly plus two.

It’s not picnic season just yet, but April showers bring May flowers, so there’s that to look forward to.
