An Ontario woman scored a huge lottery prize recently, just months after she won another big prize.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation said in a press release that London resident Marianne (Mary) Spence won the top prize on the Instant Red Hot 10x scratch ticket.
Spence, who works at a law office, has played the lottery with the OLG for about 40 years, the release said.
“I started playing instant tickets on the bus, and I like games that take a bit longer to play,” she said.
She said that in February, she won $20,000 playing Instant Ruby Solitaire and was “ecstatic.”

And now, with the Red Hot 10x ticket, she has won $250,000.
“I noticed this game was brand new, so I decided to give it a try,” Spence said.
“This was the first time I ever played it.”
She was shocked when she realized she won the top prize.
“I began to shake and had to take some time to process what happened,” Spence recalled.
She shared the news with her family that night and they initially thought she won $25,000.
In terms of her plans for the winnings, Spence will be getting her daughter a gift and she’s also looking at retirement.
“My daughter is planning on getting her license soon, so we’re going to buy a nice new car,” she said.
“Retirement is also in the picture for me. This win has brought me a lot of joy in realizing the possibilities that lie ahead.”
The winning ticket was bought in London at Market Lottery on King Street.
