Police have found a woman missing from Welland since April 27 safe outside of Niagara Region.

The family of Roxanne Latham, 39, reported her missing on May 7. She lived in Welland, but was known to frequent St. Catharines.

At the time of a plea for information on May 13, Niagara police believed she may have been hit by a car and left the scene with minor injuries.

A search of area hospitals turned up nothing and her family grew worried for her well being. More than two weeks after their plea, police announced on May 31 that Latham had been found.

With files from Don Redmond.
