A popular Toronto restaurant has opened its first location outside of the city.
Middle Eastern restaurant Tabule is now open at 234 Lakeshore Rd. E. in Oakville. The space was previously home to the Mediterranean restaurant, River16.
“We’re thrilled to announce the soft launch of our Oakville location this week,” Tabule said on Instagram last week. “During this time, we’ll be fine-tuning out any kinks and details, so thank you for rolling with us.”
Tabule opened its first location in Midtown on Yonge Street in Toronto in 2005. Founded by Chef Rony Goriachy and Diana Sideris, Tabule Midtown offers Middle Eastern cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere, according to the website.
Main dishes include grilled seabass, lamb skewers and vegetarian falafel. Award-winning appetizers include a hallüm cheese salad and a lentil soup.
There is a large selection of wines, beer and cocktails on the menu. Desserts include baklava and Kunafa Ashta (a cream pastry).
People expressed excitement about the new restaurant in Oakville.
“This was a midtown fav, now in our backyard,” one person wrote on Instagram.
