A popular Toronto restaurant is slated to open its first location outside of the city, in Oakville.
Middle Eastern restaurant Tabule will open at 234 Lakeshore Rd. E. in Oakville soon.
The restaurant, which posted on Instagram about the new location, now has signage up in the new spot in the heart of downtown Oakville. This will be the first Tabule location outside of Toronto.
The space was previously home to Mediterranean restaurant, River16.
Tabule opened its first location in Midtown on Yonge Street in Toronto in 2005. Founded by Chef Rony Goriachy and Diana Sideris, Tabule Midtown offers Middle Eastern cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere, according to the website.
There are now locations at 810 Queen St. E., 2901 Bayview Ave., and 494 Front St. E. in Toronto.
Main dishes include grilled seabass, lamb skewers and vegetarian falafel. Award-winning appetizers include a hallüm cheese salad and a lentil soup.
There is a large selection of wines, beer and cocktails on the menu. Desserts include baklava and Kunafa Ashta (a cream pastry).
The opening date for the Oakville location has not yet been announced, but the restaurant is hiring staff, according to an Instagram post.
