The suspect of yesterday morning’s early morning stabbing remains at large, though police have now released a description of the man.

A man was stabbed at an apartment near Simcoe St. and Bagot St. in central Oshawa around 6 a.m. on January 31. When Durham Regional Police responded to the scene soon after, they found a man, 40, suffering non-life-threatening wounds.

Paramedics rushed the victim to a Toronto hospital where he was treated and soon released.

However, the suspect had already fled the scene on foot and has so far evaded capture. Investigators believe this is an isolated event and there is no further threat to the public.

Police describe the suspect as a white man in his fifties with a shaved head. He was wearing a black-hooded jacket, a black T-shirt with a red circle on the chest, dark pants and light-coloured running shoes.

Anyone with knowledge of the suspect’s identity or whereabouts can call D/Cst. Trafford of Central East Division Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2739 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
