There were road closures in Brampton on Tuesday night after a driver struck a pedestrian, who was seriously injured.
At 7:03 p.m., Peel Regional Police received a report about the collision at Almond Street and Clarkway Drive. York Region parademics treated the pedestrian and took them to a trauma centre. That is the common practice if a person’s injuries are life-altering or life-threatening.
Motorists were advised to take alternate routes.
It was at least the third time in the past seven days in Peel Region that a driver hit someone who was on foot. Last Friday, there was a collision at Castle Oaks Crossing in Brampton last Friday (Oct. 29).
On Oct. 27, a Mississauga woman was struck by a motorist and pinned under the vehicle near Westminster Place and Willowbank Trail. She suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.
