RECALL: Vehicles recalled again in Canada after repair fails

Certain vehicles have been recalled again in Canada after an initial repair failed to address the problem, officials say.

Transport Canada said in a notice that the trim for the seat fold switch on the second-row outboard seats could get stuck.

“If this happens, the seat(s) could fold and/or move unexpectedly…. A seat that folds and/or moves could increase the risk of injury in a crash,” the notice said.

The recall is from Ford and involves the following models / model years:

• Ford Explorer — 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026
• Lincoln Aviator — 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026

There are 26,900 vehicles that are impacted in Canada.

As mentioned, this is another recall.

Transport Canada said that previous repairs done by a Ford realer during the recall 25S67 (Transport Canada recall no. 2025-328) “may not be effective.”

“As a result, a second repair is required…. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair,” officials said.

Ford will notify owners about the issue by mail.

They will be advised to take their vehicle to a dealership where the seat fold switch trim and housing will be replaced with “one with an improved design.”

Meanwhile, on Monday INsauga reported on another vehicle recall.

That one was from Honda and involved the 2026 Passport and 2026 Pilot models.

“The rear subframe bolt(s) may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the bolt(s) could loosen and the rear subframe could detach,” Transport Canada said in that notice.
