RECALL: Nearly 14,000 vehicles need to be taken to dealership in Canada, Ford Lincoln

Nearly 14,000 vehicles in Canada will need to be brought to the dealership amid a recall.

Transport Canada said in a notice that there could be a problem with the driver and/or front passenger seatbelt pretensioners.

A seatbelt pretensioner is a device that tightens the seatbelt in the event of a crash.

“As a result, the airbag warning light could turn on, and the seatbelt pretensioners could deploy without a crash… Seat belt pretensioners that don’t work properly could create an increased risk of injury,” officials said.

“Additionally, seat belt pretensioners that deploy without a crash could startle the driver and increase the risk of a crash.”
