A recall has been issued for nearly 1,300 vehicles in Canada because of a battery problem that could lead to a fire.
Transport Canada said that the high-voltage battery on the impacted vehicles could fail.
If that happens, it could overheat.
“A high-voltage battery that fails can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off,” Transport Canada said.
The recall is from Fiat Chrysler and involves the 2020, 2021, and 2022 Chrysler Pacifica models.

Transport Canada said only the plug-in hybrid models are impacted.
There are 1,269 vehicles in Canada affected by the recall.
Fiat Chrysler said the vehicles should not be charged and they should be parked outside and away from other vehicles until repairs are completed.
The company will notify owners by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership for an inspection and, if needed, the high-voltage battery will be replaced.
“The dealer will also install an advanced diagnostic software that will monitor the high-voltage battery and warn you if it detects a problem,” the notice said.
