Fans Crumbl Cookies waited in a huge line-up this morning for the grand opening in Mississauga.

Crumbl Cookies had a soft opening yesterday (July 27) but a grand opening celebration drew crowds today (July 28). The location, at the Heartland Town Centre, 5985 Rodeo Drive, is the first one in Ontario.

The shop is popular on social media and is known for its “insta-worthy” pink boxes.

Posts on social media show a line stretching out onto the sidewalk this morning at 9 a.m.

Several events were planned for the grand opening. Following a ribbon cutting at 1 p.m., a “Pink Party” was planned until 4 p.m. The party included music, photo ops, and opportunities to win Crumbl merch.

A guest appearance from NBA G-League Mascot Stripes was expected at 4 p.m.

The grand opening week menu will contain six of the 200-plus weekly rotating flavours, including Crumbl’s award-winning milk chocolate chip cookie.

Weekly new flavour drops are on Sundays at 7 p.m. on all of Crumbl Canada’s social media accounts.

For the first few days, cookie sales will be in-person only. Services such as delivery, curb-side pickup, and catering will be available online in the weeks to come.

Charles Terry and professional basketball player Tobias Harris of the Philadelphia 76ers, decided to open a Crumbl location after they tried a chocolate chip cookie.

“We were not only sold by the taste of the cookies but also by Crumbl’s mission to bring friends and family together over a box of the best cookies in the world,” Terry said in a press release.

Mutual friend, former NBA player and Mississauga resident Andrew Nicholson also joined the team.

As a proud resident of Mississauga I am thrilled to be a franchise partner of the first Crumbl Cookies franchise in Ontario, and I am looking forward to bringing the mouthwatering joy of Crumbl Cookies to my hometown,” says Nicholson.

The Mississauga location is expected to employ about 90 people.

Crumbl Cookies was founded in 2017 in Logan, Utah by Canadian dual-citizen Jason McGowan, and his cousin, Sawyer Hemsley.

There are now over 850 locations in all 50 U.S. states. There are also two locations in Alberta and one in Saskatchewan.

The menu offers new flavours every week while regularly bringing back crowd favourites and unique original recipes.
