New Chick-fil-A restaurant to open in Mississauga

A new Chick-fil-A restaurant will open in Mississauga.

It will be the second location for the U.S. chain known for its chicken sandwiches. The first opened to crowds at Square One Shopping Centre in August 2023.

A Chick-fil-A spokesperson confirmed the new location at 5950 Mavis Rd. at Heartland Town Centre.

“While still early in the process, we are pleased to share Chick-fil-A is actively pursuing a new location at 5950 Mavis Road in Mississauga,” the spokesperson told INsauga.com in an email.

The spokesperson couldn’t provide more information as to when the new restaurant would open.

A building permit was issued earlier this year for a 473-square-metre Chick-fil-A building, according to City of Mississauga documents.

Construction has started in the parking lot near Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, a post on Reddit indicates.

The project will be executed by a local contracting firm, BUILD IT.

Chick-fil-A opened its first Canadian store in downtown Toronto in September 2019 and since then has continued to grow. Two new locations opened in Ontario in January.

Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means owner-operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants, according to the chain’s website.
