Mississauga’s first Chick-fil-A has finally opened and customers piled into the new location for the grand opening yesterday.

Fans of the popular U.S. chain, known for its chicken sandwiches, have been waiting for months.

In October, Chick-fil-A announced plans to open a location in Mississauga and a sign was posted on the location at Square One back in December.

Then finally, the restaurant announced it would open on Aug. 10 at Square One, 100 City Centre Dr. on level 1 inside Food Central.

People could be seen outside the restaurant yesterday, waiting to get in.

“Waiting outside and VERY excited to be served! It was a pleasure to meet some of your staff as they were coming in!” one person wrote on Instagram.

“So excited this has opened in Mississauga!” another wrote.

The opening celebration included speeches, giveaways and, of course, food.

The menu includes a range of chicken sandwiches such as the Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, deluxe and grilled options, as well as waffle fries.

The new Mississauga Chick-fil-A is the 11th in Canada. It will be locally owned and operated by Mufuti Sanusi, and employ approximately 90 to 95 full- and part-time staff members.

The Square One Chick-fil-A opens Monday through Saturday for dine-in and pick-up from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
