This is where the $75 million lottery jackpot was won in Canada, lotto max

A man who won a big Lotto Max prize around two weeks ago has already gone into retirement.

The Atlantic Lottery Corporation said in a news release that Cormier Village, N.B. resident Pierre Landry won a $1 million maxmillion prize in the Dec. 30 draw.

(That was the same draw where an $80 million jackpot was won by a ticket sold in London, Ontario.)

Landry checked his tickets the morning of Dec. 31 and couldn’t believe it.

“I was sitting on my chair for five minutes while my wife was sleeping, and finally I had to wake her,” he said.

“I had the ticket in my hand and was just shaking it and she was saying, ‘What? What?'”

Landry has already retired as a result of the win. He worked in a local fish smokehouse.

“I was working, but not now,” he said.

“I had another year to go if I didn’t win, but this feels terrific.”

Other than retiring, Landry and his wife said they are going to take time to think about how to use the prize money.

A motorhome and taking a trip across Canada are in the cards, however.
