Man faces charges in 3 break-ins and sexual assault in Mississauga

A Mississauga man faces charges in a series of break-and-enters — one involving a sexual assault.

On Monday (June 6), three residents reported a break-and-enters to their homes in the Credit Woodlands area of Mississauga, Peel Regional Police said.

Two incidents occurred while the homeowners slept during the early morning hours, police said.

In the third incident, the homeowner was assaulted and sustained minor injuries, police said.

In all incidents, property and money were stolen.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, Matthew Ward, 35, of Mississauga was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Attempt to Commit an Indictable Offence
  • Assault (two counts)
  • Break and Enter and Commit an Indictable Offence (two counts)
  • Sexual Assault
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Assault with a Weapon

Investigators believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone with any information to contact them.
