Rollercoaster stopped again after reported incident at Canada’s Wonderland

Canada’s Wonderland’s tallest rollercoaster had to be stopped again recently — just a few days after a separate incident also saw the ride temporarily shut down.

A spokesperson for the Vaughan amusement park told INsauga.com that the most recent incident happened last Thursday at around 7:30 p.m.

Grace Peacock said the Leviathan was “temporarily paused after staff received a report of objects being thrown at riders.”

“Security and on-site police officers investigated, but no evidence was found to substantiate the report,” she said.

A spokesperson for York Regional Police said they didn’t have any information on the matter.

“The ride reopened shortly after, and no injuries were reported,” Peacock said.

The ride was stopped for 15 minutes, she said.

A few days prior, on Aug. 15, the same rollercoaster was stopped while guests were on the ride — but that time, a guest ended up being kicked out of the park.

Peacock said that the ride was paused “when a guest disconnected the secondary restraint.”

Staff then walked up the lift hill to make sure that the restraint was refastened and the ride continued “shortly after,” Peacock said.

As for the guest who reportedly disconnected the restraint, they were met by security and escorted out of the park for violating the code of conduct, Peacock said.
