Lucky Hammer: Man wins $1 million, one week after $60 million went to Hamilton woman
The Hammer is apparently a lucky place to live. One week after a Hamilton woman won the $60 million Lotto Max draw, a man from Ancaster won $1 million.

The Hammer is apparently a lucky place to live. One week after a Hamilton woman won the $60 million Lotto Max draw, Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) announced that a man from Ancaster won a $1 million Maxmillions prize through Lotto Max.

Abdelnasir Bashir says he has been a regular lottery player for 27 years.

The married father was at the grocery store checking his tickets when he discovered his big win.

“I scanned it using the Ticket Checker and I couldn’t believe it,” Bashir said. “I checked it at multiple other places just to make sure it was real. By the third store, I knew it had to be true.”

When he told his wife about the win, she didn’t believe him.

“The disbelief was overwhelming,” Bashir said.

He plans to purchase a house with his win.

The winning ticket was purchased at Fortinos on Wilson Street in Ancaster.
