Pack an umbrella when heading out for New Year’s Eve parties — this weekend’s weather is promising to be rainy and warm in Mississauga and Brampton.
The weather forecast makes a huge swing from last weekend’s frigid -24 C with the wind chill and a winter storm, which left many drivers stranded.
This weekend will feel more like spring than winter. Forecasters predict around a 30 C difference in wind chill with warmer temperatures, less wind and plenty of rain.
The wet weather starts today (Dec. 29) with a 60 per cent chance of drizzle this afternoon and a high of 8 C at Mississauga’s Pearson Airport, according to Environment Canada.
Tomorrow, the temperatures get up to 10 C with periods of rain beginning late in the afternoon. It could also be windy with gusts up to 40 km/h.
The Dec. 31 forecast calls for rain with a high of 7 C and low of 3 C. There could be 10 to 15 millimetres of rain throughout the day, according to the Weather Network.
New Year’s Day might not be much drier with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a balmy 5 C predicted.
