UPDATE: No evidence of shots fired was located, police said shortly after 12 p.m.

The hold and secure has been lifted.

Original story follows:

Another Brampton school is under hold and secure this week, this time for potential gunshots in the area.

Officers are responding to the area of Morton Way and Talon Gate after possible gunshots were heard at 11:22 a.m.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

Morton Way Public Elementary School has been placed under hold and secure until further notice.

A hold and secure is meant to prevent unauthorized persons from entering a school building when a potential threat arises in the area.

More information to come.

This is the third day in a row that one or more Brampton schools was put under hold and secure, following two similar incidents earlier this week.

On Monday, Sept. 26, four schools were placed under hold and secure due to the sighting of a gun, which police later determined was not real.

Yesterday, Sept. 27, two secondary schools were placed under hold and secure for an armed robbery with a knife in the same area as Monday’s incident. Police have made one arrest and are still searching for a second suspect.
