The new year is bringing new closures for The Beer Store.
The company previously announced that it will be shutting down three of its locations this weekend.
It comes after numerous closures last year amid Ontario’s expanded alcohol marketplace, in which beverages can be purchased at various locations like convenience stores, for instance.
Most recently, on Nov. 16, seven Beer Stores closed.
This upcoming Sunday, three more locations will be shutting down.
“The Beer Store is evolving operations to meet the changing needs of a modernized retail market,” said Ozzie Ahmed, the vice president of retail at The Beer Store.
“Unfortunately, this includes making the difficult decision to close retail locations. We know this is difficult news for consumers, recyclers and our employees.”
Here’s a look at the three locations that will be closing on Sunday:
- Haliburton — 15 Hops Drive
- Schomberg — 17250 Hwy. #27
- Whitby — 3950 Brock Street North
After this Sunday, on Jan. 18 another Beer Store will be shutting down, located at 150 Midtown Drive in Oshawa.
