These 7 Beer Stores just permanently closed in Ontario

The Beer Store closed multiple locations over the weekend in Ontario.

It adds numerous closures that have already occurred amid the province’s expanded alcohol marketplace.

Ozzie Ahmed, the vice president of retail at The Beer Store, has attributed the closures to the marketplace expansion.

“We know this is difficult news for consumers, recyclers and our employees,” he said.

On Sunday, seven stores shut down.

Here’s a look at those locations:

• Alexandria — 118 Main Street North
• Barrie — 299 Blake Street
• Brampton — 374 Main Street North
• Beaverton — 553 Mara Road
• Cornwall — 960 Brookdale Avenue, Unit 7
• Gananoque — 580 King Street East
• South River — 310 Hwy. #124

Meanwhile, earlier this month on Nov. 2, six Beer Stores also closed. They were located in London, Mattawa, Mississauga, Niagara Falls, Pickering, and Sudbury.
