Battle Results! Best Dessert Battle: Mississauga vs. Burlington
Have you been in the mood for a great dessert dish and haven’t been quite sure where to go to get one? Since there is no shortage of selection in the GTA, the choice as to where to dine can be a tough one--especially when great dessert restaurants are plentiful across cities.
When it comes to great dessert, every aspect counts. Does the restaurant offer the classics, such as delicious cakes, filling pastries and exceptional ice cream? Does it do something better than anyone else (such as serve a great crepe or bubble tea drink)? Does it generate lineups on summer nights?
Both Mississauga and Burlington are known for their respective food scenes, and both offer a ton of excellent dessert joints--but only one city can have the absolute best hotspots.
What places were competing?
If you're in the mood for a sweet treat after dinner, there are tons of options in Mississauga. Some places worth checking out include the brand new Bake Three-Fifty in the newly-opened in The Food District in Square One, the delicious and unique Sugar Marmalade in the City Centre area, the stylish and atmospheric bubble tea mecca that is Green Grotto, the long-standing and eternally popular Apricot Tree in the Sherwood Forrest neighbourhood, and our number one pick, the popular and creative Dunk n' Dip in the City Centre area. Although Dunk n' Dip is our number one, we know Mississauga is a great place to be when you're in the mood for dessert.
If you're in the mood for dessert in Burlington, the options are almost endless. Some places worth visiting include the ever-popular and often-busy Caffe Demetre, the unique and beloved Walker's Chocolates (you've got to try the dark chocolate almond bark), the downtown gem with the to-die-for chocolate walnut pie that is Pane Fresco, the delicious from-scratch establishment MollyCake, and our number one pick, the locally-beloved Kelly's Bake Shoppe. While Kelly's is our number one choice, we know that Burlington is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth.
