Another Beer Store just permanently closed in Ontario.
It’s the latest in a series of closures that have hit the company amid the expansion of Ontario alcohol marketplace.
The expanded marketplace has allowed alcoholic beverages to be sold at many more locations like convenience stores, for instance.
“The Beer Store is evolving operations to meet the changing needs of a modernized retail market. Unfortunately, this includes making the difficult decision to close retail locations,” said Ozzie Ahmed, the vice president of retail at The Beer Store.
“We know this is difficult news for consumers, recyclers and our employees.”
The latest closure affected a location in Oshawa.
On Sunday, The Beer Store located at 150 Midtown Drive shut down.
It marks the fourth location to close in January.
Earlier this month, on Jan. 11, three others closed.
Here is where those ones were located:
- Haliburton — 15 Hops Drive
- Schomberg — 17250 Hwy. #27
- Whitby — 3950 Brock Street North
