Following a weekend that saw multiple Beer Stores shut down in Ontario, another one is set to close this upcoming Sunday.

Numerous Beer Store locations have closed since the province’s expanded alcohol marketplace was introduced in 2024. The expanded marketplace has allowed alcoholic beverages to be sold at many more locations, like convenience stores.

Beer Store closures have continued into 2026.

“The Beer Store is evolving operations to meet the changing needs of a modernized retail market. Unfortunately, this includes making the difficult decision to close retail locations,” said Ozzie Ahmed, the vice president of retail at The Beer Store.

“We know this is difficult news for consumers, recyclers and our employees.”

This Sunday, Jan. 18, a Beer Store located at 150 Midtown Drive in Oshawa will be closing, the company said.

As mentioned, it follows a round closures that happened last weekend, on Jan. 11.

On that date, three stores shut down.

Here’s where those ones were located:

  • Haliburton — 15 Hops Drive
  • Schomberg — 17250 Hwy. #27
  • Whitby — 3950 Brock Street North
