Another Beer Store is reopening soon in southern Ontario

Another location of The Beer Store is set to reopen soon after it shut down last year.

It comes after a Beer Store at 1089 Kingston Road in Scarborough, near Victoria Park Avenue, reopened on Monday.

“Consumers in Scarborough and The Beaches are now closer than ever to a great selection of beer and a globally recognized deposit return system,” Ozzie Ahmed, the vice president of retail at The Beer Store, said regarding the Scarborough location.

And now this coming Monday, June 29, another location is set to reopen at 3078 Don Mills Road in North York. That’s south of Finch Avenue East.

“We’re thrilled to open these retail locations to serve customers in time for Canada Day,” Ahmed said.

It marks a reversal of a trend of Beer Store closures that have happened throughout Ontario amid the province’s expanded alcohol marketplace.

Both the Scarborough and North York locations had shut down last year.

“This is great news for consumers in Toronto looking for easy and convenient locations to return empty alcohol containers for a deposit refund,” Ahmed previously said.

“In an evolving marketplace, we are actively reviewing our recycling and retail presence to best serve customers.”
