Another round of closures hit The Beer Store last weekend.
Twelve more locations shut down on Sunday, adding to numerous that had already closed amid the expanded alcohol marketplace in Ontario.
“Where we sell beer and collect empties in Ontario is changing,” Ozzie Ahmed, the vice president of retail at The Beer Store, said in a news release regarding the Oct. 19 closures.
“The Beer Store is modernizing to meet the changing marketplace and unfortunately this means making the hard decision to close retail locations. We know this is difficult news for customers and employees.”
