A Beer Store location just reopened in Toronto

The Beer Store just reopened a location in Toronto.

On Monday, the store at 1089 Kingston Road in Scarborough, near Victoria Park Avenue, opened its doors and is now selling beer and accepting empties.

“This is a very exciting day. Consumers in Scarborough and The Beaches are now closer than ever to a great selection of beer and a globally recognized deposit return system,” said Ozzie Ahmed, the vice president of retail at The Beer Store.

“There’s never a bad time to return empty alcohol containers to the Beer Store. Stop by and see what’s new at our Kingston Road location.”

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Monday to mark the opening.

Meanwhile, this coming Monday, June 29, another Beer Store is set to reopen at 3078 Don Mills Road in North York. That’s south of Finch Avenue East.

“We’re thrilled to open these retail locations to serve customers in time for Canada Day,” Ahmed said.

It marks a reversal of a trend of Beer Store closures that have happened throughout Ontario amid the province’s expanded alcohol marketplace.

Beer Stores at both the Scarborough and North York locations had shut down last year.
