81 major prizes up for grabs with Lotto Max draw in Canada

The winner or winners of a massive lottery jackpot have yet to come forward in Canada.

Back on Dec. 30, after a number of draws, an $80 million Lotto Max jackpot was finally won.

Just one ticket matched seven out of seven numbers to win the massive prize.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation said at the time that it was sold somewhere in London, Ontario.

It marked the first time in Ontario that the $80 million jackpot was won by a single ticket.

(A number of other big prizes were also won in that draw.)

More than six weeks after the draw, we have yet to learn who the winner or — if the ticket was shared among multiple people — winners are.

INsauga.com reached out to the OLG on Wednesday to see if there was an update.

OLG spokesperson Tony Bitonti said they have not yet been in contact with the ticket holder(s).

But Bitonti said that their records show the ticket has been checked on the OLG app.

It’s not unusual, however, for this to happen, Bitonti said.

He said that the OLG has seen this many times with big winners over $50 million.

“They want to get financial advisors, lawyers, etc. set up before they come in,” Bitonti said.

So, we continue to await the official reveal of who won the major prize.

Meanwhile, in the most recent Lotto Max draw on Tuesday night, a $40 million jackpot was up for grabs, but no one won it.

The Lotto Max jackpot now stands at an estimated $50 million for Friday’s draw. An estimated two $1 million maxmillion prizes could also be won.
