$40 million lottery ticket remains unclaimed in Ontario

No one has come forward to claim a $40 million lottery prize from more than seven months ago.

Back on Oct. 28, one ticket matched seven out of seven numbers in the Lotto Max draw to win the $40 million jackpot.

Tony Bitonti from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation previously said the ticket was sold somewhere in Grey County in southern Ontario.

Grey County includes the municipalities of Owen Sound and The Blue Mountains, among others.

Back in April, INsauga.com reported that no one had come forward to claim the prize.

On Monday, Bitonti told INsauga.com that the prize is still unclaimed.

When asked if the ticket had been scanned, whether on the OLG app or in-store, Bitonti said there has been “no action” with it.

Bitonti previously said that he couldn’t provide more information on the exact retail location where the ticket was sold because that’s part of the prize claim process.

“We need the holder of the ticket to give us details about where and when the ticket was purchased so we can determine if they are the rightful winner,” he said.

Tickets printed from a lottery terminal expire one year from the draw date.

That means there’s less than five months left for the winner or winners to come forward.

“Fingers crossed its gets claimed,” Bitonti said.

The OLG may soon launch an awareness campaign about the prize.

According to the OLG website, these were the winning numbers for the Oct. 28, 2025 Lotto Max draw: 06 14 17 19 26 43 45 Bonus 27.
