Residents can hear more about a proposal for a 38-storey apartment building development in Mississauga.

The proposal is for 70 Park St. E. in Port Credit — in an area that already has several potential developments coming.

A 17-storey rental apartment building proposed for the former Planet Organic plaza in the area has gone to the Ontario Land Tribunal for reconsideration. And an 11-storey, 42-unit condo building proposed for the Skinner & Middlebrook Funeral Home also went to the Tribunal.

Nearby 88 Park St. E. has a proposal for two condominium apartment buildings of 40 and 42 storeys, containing 1,139 units.

There are few details yet on the proposal for 70 Park St. E. The development would be a 38-storey apartment building with 530 units, ground floor commercial space and daycare, according to a post on Ward 1 Councillor Stephen Dasko’s website.

The property already has a 210-unit apartment building, which will remain. The new development would be on the northern portion of 70 Park St. E.

The application is still in the very early stages and needs approval from council for an Official Plan amendment and re-zoning.

Residents can hear more about the proposal and provide their thoughts in a community virtual meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

For more information and to register to attend, see the post on Coun. Dasko’s website.
