Whether it’s a newly opened restaurant or a long-running local favourite, closures can leave deep disappointment among regular customers.

Here are two restaurants that closed in Mississauga and Oakville in December 2025:

Tita’s Mexican Food

Tita’s Mexican Food has closed its Mississauga location after about two years in operation.

The restaurant operated at 1852 Lakeshore Rd. W., and new tenants are already preparing to move into the space.

The Mississauga shutdown follows the closure of the chain’s other GTA locations in Toronto and Etobicoke.

Tita’s was known for its traditional Mexican dishes, including birria,  along with staples such as tacos, enchiladas and chilaquiles.

The business began as a catering company before expanding into restaurant locations.

Celadon House

Celadon House, a long-running Oakville restaurant, has announced it will be closing after more than 20 years in business.

The restaurant was known for its Asian-style comfort food, offering an extensive menu that included spring rolls, wontons, dumplings, soups, curries and stir-fried noodle dishes.

Popular menu items ranged from chicken and beef dishes cooked in peanut, basil and curry sauces to noodle soups, pad thai and clay pot specialties, along with seafood options such as calamari, prawns and fish.

The owners shared the news in a post on the restaurant’s Instagram page, pointing to retirement as the reason for the decision.

In their message, they reflected on the restaurant’s decades-long run and thanked customers for their support, which helped make the business a community go-to spot.
