Hamilton Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the vehicle and driver involved in a hit-and-run yesterday (Sept 9) that sent a woman to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say a 27-year-old woman was attempting to cross Mohawk Rd. E. near East 45th St. when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle.

The woman was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle did not remain at the scene and was last seen traveling east on Mohawk Rd. just past Upper Ottawa St.

Police believe they are looking for a silver or gray, four-door sedan that may have damage to its passenger mirror. It could possibly be an older model Honda Civic.

Anyone with additional information or drivers in the area at the time of the incident who may have captured dashcam footage are encouraged to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-546-4753 or 4755.
