Woman shot in Whitby Sunday morning

A 26 year-old woman was shot early Sunday morning at the Kendalwood Plaza in Whitby.

There is no suspect description at this time and Durham Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.

Central West Division officers responded to a disturbance at the plaza, which is on the south side of Dundas Street at Kendalwood Drive/Garrard Road in east Whitby, where they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with non life-threatening injuries.
