The hot and humid streak is expected to break over the weekend in southern Ontario.
Southwestern Ontario has been under a heat warning this week, with humidex values between 39 and 43 C in the forecast.
The Greater Toronto Area, while not under the warning, has also been experiencing above-normal temperatures.
With the humidity, it was expected to feel like 39 C on Thursday and 31 C on Friday in the GTA, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
There is a chance of showers and a risk of thunderstorms on Friday morning in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton and Durham Region, according to Environment Canada.
The hot weather will continue on Saturday with a high of around 28 C and sunny skies. With the humidity, it could feel like 31 C, according to The Weather Network.
A low of 19 C is forecast.
On Sunday, GTA residents will finally get a break from the heat. A high of 22 C and a chilly low of 9 C is forecast.
There is a 60 per cent chance of rain, according to Environment Canada.
Normal temperatures for this time of year are highs around 24 C and lows around 12 C, Environment Canada notes.
