A weather warning has been issued for hot and humid conditions expected Monday and Tuesday in Mississauga and Brampton.

Maximum daytime temperatures from 31 to 34 degrees Celsius are expected, with humidex values near 40.

Nightfall will provide little relief, with overnight low temperatures only falling to 21 to 23 degrees.

“A cold front is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms Tuesday evening bringing an end to the heat and humidity,” says Environment Canada.

Regular rainfall are expected this week as well, especially on Wednesday and Thursday.

Residents are reminded to stay cool and watch out for symptoms of heat illness, which include swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and the worsening of some health conditions.
