It will be rainy and windy with snow in southern Ontario today

Today promises yet another day of gloomy weather, bringing dark skies and wintry conditions to southern Ontario.

It is going to be mainly cloudy this morning with residents waking up to a 30 per cent chance of rain, which could continue into the late afternoon.

Strong winds are also expected in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with speeds reaching 50 km/h in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, and Durham. Hamilton is forecasted to experience even stronger gusts, reaching up to 70 km/h.

Despite the slightly cool conditions, temperatures will stay above freezing with a daytime high of 5 C across the region.

Overcast skies will persist into the evening, with a 30 per cent possibility of either rain or snow. Wind speeds are set to pick up once more, this time to 40 km/h, and may ease up by midnight.

Temperatures are anticipated to fall to a chilly -2 C, though it will feel notably colder, hovering around -9 C due to the wind chill.

Environment Canada predicts that the predominantly cloudy conditions will continue through the upcoming week with chances of additional snow, rain, and occasional sunny breaks.

Lately, the weather has been rather perplexing with some days resembling spring while others have brought bitter winter vibes. It’s wise to keep an eye on the forecast and not stow away those warm clothes and shovels just yet.

Before heading outdoors, try to be prepared with a jacket and an umbrella, as the conditions may fluctuate unexpectedly.
