Weather April 9: Feeling hot with afternoon showers for southern Ontario

Morning sunshine, afternoon showers and unseasonably hot temperatures will mark the weather Tuesday in the GTA, with Hamilton possibly getting the showers a little early.

Most of the GTA will wake up to sunshine, making way to cloudy skies and then a 70 per cent chance of showers and a risk of a thundershower late in the afternoon.

Daytime highs will be 18 in Mississauga (14 near Lake Ontario) and Brampton and 20 in Milton and Halton Hills. Oakville and Burlington will see highs of 17 while Hamilton, which will see mainly cloudy skies all day, will see temperatures reach 21 C.

Overnight lows will be nine in Mississauga, eight in Halton Region’s north and 10 in Hamilton.

On the east side of the GTA in Durham Region it will be sunny in the morning and early afternoon, followed by a mix of sun and cloud with a 70 percent chance of showers late in the afternoon. There’s a risk of a thunderstorm late in the afternoon.

The high will be 18 (14 near Lake Ontario), with mainly cloudy skies overnight and a 70 percent chance of more showers. The low will be 9 C.
