If you’re partying outside tonight, you better bring an umbrella.

It’s going to be a wet one.

Environment Canada recently announced that a special weather statement is in effect for Halton and Peel (Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills), as rain and scattered showers are expected to last throughout the evening.

The weather agency says rain is expected for the remainder of this afternoon and into the evening before tapering to scattered showers later this evening.

Rainfall amounts of up to 25 mm will be possible in some areas.

For that reason, drivers and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution in the rain and darkness this evening.
