Waterproof shoe store to celebrate opening with $9 deal in Mississauga

A popular waterproof shoe brand from Vancouver celebrates its opening in Mississauga with a door crasher special.

Vessi, a Canadian brand, known for its waterproof footwear and apparel, opens its first Ontario retail store in Mississauga next month, according to a press release from Vessi.

The new, 2,000 square-foot store will be in Square One Shopping Centre. Vessi is opening in the former Italian clothing store, Geox, which closed its Square One location this year.

The opening date has yet to be announced but Vessi said it will be late October. The date will be announced on social media.

To celebrate the opening of the new store, Vessi will offer a door crasher deal — the first 200 pairs of Alta High Tops will be on sale for $9.05, a nod to the local area code.

The high tops sneakers are a new style from Vessi. They are waterproof and built for warmth for Canadian winters.

It’ll be limited to one pair per customer and only while supplies last.

This will be the second store for the brand. The shoes were launched online in 2018 but Vessi opened their first brick-and-mortar store in Burnaby, B.C. in 2022.

“The magic behind Vessi’s success has been our growing and loyal community that has supported us since we first launched in 2018,” said Mikaella Go, co-founder of Vessi in the press release.

“We could have never imagined that 5 years later, our e-commerce waterproof sneaker brand would be opening our second retail location at Square One Shopping Centre, the second largest shopping mall in Canada.”

The Square One store will feature a mural created by Toronto artist Adrian Forrow.

Also new this fall is the Soho, a new, urban style sneaker. And they have expanded their apparel line to include a waterproof jacket and belt bag.

Shoppers can check out and try on Vessi’s entire lineup of products at the new store.

“There’s so much going on at Vessi. In addition to this new store, we’re launching new silhouettes, and have recently expanded into apparel,” Go added. “We know our products get people outside, experiencing rain and water in a fun, positive way and we can’t wait to bring that to Ontario.”
