Waterproof shoe store to open first Ontario location in Mississauga

A popular waterproof shoe brand from Vancouver is opening its first Ontario store in Mississauga.
Vessi plans to open its first Ontario store in Square One this fall, according to a story in Retail Insider.
Vessi did not immediately respond to an interview request, but the store now has a job posting for a manager of the Square One store.
The store will be about 2,000 square feet and will take over the Geox store space, according to Retail Insider. Geox, an Italian outfitter for men, women and kids, known for its waterproof/breathable shoes closed its Square One location recently.
Three Vancouver residents started Vessi in 2018 “after a few too many wet socks and rain checks,” according to the website.
Their goal was to create a “totally waterproof sneaker that looked and felt anything but.”

Initially, the shoes were sold online but they opened their first brick-and-mortar store in Burnaby, B.C. in 2022.
The exact opening date of the new Square One location was not released but the goal is to have the new store open in October, according to Retail Insider.
