WATCH: Hamilton police arrest 37-year-old accused of serial arson

A 37-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with multiple offences related to arson.

Local police say the first incident dates back to Dec. 31, 2021, when a large fire was reported outside of a business compound in the area of Sherman Ave and Princess St. The damage was valued at $75,000.
Two more similar incidents, one on Jan. 7 on Beechwood Ave and the other on Jan. 22 on Paling Ave, caused a total of $55,000.
James Peschke was arrested and charged with two counts of property damage and one count of disregard for human life. He was held for a bail hearing.
