WANTED: 2 suspects at large after man arrested in fatal shooting in Brampton

A man faces murder charges in connection with a fatal shooting in Brampton last month, while police continue searching for two more suspects.

Peel Regional Police said officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Sandalwood Parkway and Crown Victoria Drive shortly after 7 p.m. on June 4.

Police found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Jamal Edwards of Brampton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, police arrested 24-year-old Bakiram Balakumar of Scarborough on July 21. He has been charged with first-degree murder and was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Investigators have also released images of two additional suspects who remain outstanding. Police said in a news release on Saturday that the pair were captured on video and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Members of the public are urged not to approach the suspects and to call 911 immediately if they are seen.
