A walk to raise money for homelessness will be taking place soon in the Town of Milton.

The event, called the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY), is a family-friendly walk to raise money for local charities that help people who may be experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness.

The walk has been organized by the community’s only dedicated youth drop-in centre, Re:Soul, who welcomes everyone from Grades six to 12 and provides free programs.

“Team up, walk, and fundraise! It’s cold out there… but there’s no place like home,” says the Town of Milton’s website about the event.

The event, which is aiming to raise $40,000, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Those who will be walking must personally check in to participate in the in-person event.

The walk will begin with walkers crossing Thompson at Nipissing then walking north on Thompson to Lions Park.

Fundraising walkers who raise $150 or those under 18 who raise $75 will receive a CNOY toque as a thank you on the event day, while supplies last.
